Now that’s possible…

Mom is currently talking to my sister abroad via VOIP. Ten years ago who would have thought this possible? The internet user experience have greatly improved through the years. I remember we used to connect to the internet through a dial-up connection and we had to share one computer and divide the minutes of our subscription plan to be able to go online. Today, we only need a router and we’re all online at the same time, no matter how many gadgets we each have. Who knows what will happen in the next ten years?

Online Shopping

I came across this Ski Shop online while looking for men’s accessories. See, I’m helping my cousin and his wife do some online shopping. They’re relatively new when it comes to buying stuff online and I’m assisting them these days (also they’re hesitant to use their card for online shopping). I wish I can make things simple for them but in reality, it isn’t that easy. Although some shops have international shipping, a lot of stores require that the shipping address be the same as the billing address. That’s just the tip of the iceberg. Anyway, I really wish I can see them through this transaction because the items they need cost an arm and a leg around here.

Hello Kitty Eyes

I’ve seen cars. I’ve seen rooms. I’ve seen nails. But this is the first time I’ve seen Hello Kitty Eyes :) Ahhh, the things you see in Facebook.

How adorable is that?! This is the cutest thing I’ve seen this week. And if I’m not suffering from dry eyes and can wear contacts, I’d probably buy a pair of this.

Talent

I got curious and clicked this link in Facebook showing a video of a boy singing his version of Dance With My Father. I didn’t even notice if the guitarist was using the best squier because the boy’s voice alone is enchanting. I’m not sure if he’s already joined contests here but surely when he does, he’ll be praised for his voice. How relaxing to hear a soothing singing voice at this time.

I came across this app while I was browsing my Instagram feeds.

Trendabl is like Instagram but it’s all fashion. I already downloaded the app but haven’t gotten around to following people. It’s a relatively new social community so I think most of my friends aren’t there yet. Visit trendabl.com if you want to more about it.

Good Buy

One day my Mom asked if we would like a refurbished desktop for dirt cheap. I was hesitant at first because 1) We still have a highly functioning desktop, 2) My laptop was just about a year old and 3) I was doubting the price (for that price, will I still be able to use it for long?). So I shrugged it off. But my Mom went ahead and bought one for herself. Then I realized, the units weren’t exactly refurbished! They were used in the office for two years tops and the usage weren’t even heavy. And they were even branded units. Mom didn’t even have to buy hard drive cleaner because when we opened and checked the unit, everything’s already perfect. Now I regret not buying when she first offered it. I hope we can still find the same deal.

In the Orchestra

I love meeting people who can play one or two instruments. It is my frustration, see, that I didn’t learn to play even just the guitar or the piano. I even wish for my kids to learn how to play the violin! Anyway, we were visiting my mom’s friend at their house whose kid plays with an orchestra. She showed us the new cello they purchased for the upcoming concert. I hope I’ll be in the same shoes someday, preparing the same for my girls.

Free Bags

My sister informed me the other day that some bags were returned to their house because the customs from the country where we’re supposed to return them did not accept it. And considering all the hassle we had to go through because of something we did not even cause, we’re freeing ourselves of the responsibility (we’ve done our part, ayt?). We are claiming the bags as ours :p We can sell them for extra cash, yeah, but my sister realized they’re nice and useful for moms like us (she saw me using one and I showed her how much stuff it can carry).

Yay for free bags! :)

The Script in Manila

DH introduced me to The Script when he said that the he’s dedicating the song “I’m Yours” to me. Part of the song goes:

I may not have the softest touch
I may not say the words as such
And though I may not look like much
I’m yours.

And though my edge is maybe rough
I never feel I’m quite enough
And it may not seem like very much
But I’m yours.

Sweet huh? The Script will be in Manila soon for a one-night performance at the Smart Araneta. I would love to go, not exactly for the akai apc40, but of course to listen to all their songs. But we’ll see if we have the extra money for that and if someone will volunteer to watch over the girls while DH and I are out.

Tickets are available in all Ticketnet outlets from P800 (GA) to P7000 (Patron VIP).

Winner!

I admire how SM have evolved in terms of prizes they give away for the Yellow Tag promo. We used to get useless stuff week after week after week that sometimes I feel compelled to just leave the prize behind, else it will just turn into junk at home. But the other day was different. DD K won a stylus! :)

She’s happy about it, even tells us that now she has a “yellow pen” for her iPad. :)
