Looking at my Instagram feeds, friends from the US have been posting snow pictures. Winter has definitely arrived on their side of the world. Their boots are out and so are the snow wear. Having lived in a tropical country all my life, I have always dreamed of experiencing snow, building snowmen and making snow angels. And the winter gear?! I would love to have a pink bogner jacket as shown below.
Maybe in the future, we will be able to visit New York during winter.

I love TOMS shoes, they are very comfortable to wear. I got my first pair last year (a red crochet) and it’s one of my favorite shoes to wear. I also love that TOMS donate a new pair to a child in need every time a purchase is made. That’s hitting two birds with one stone, right?
At the start of the year, I got another pair as a gift from mom. I would have gotten this Pink one but there were no sizes available for me anymore. So I got the Teal instead which is equally charming (I just forgot to take a picture!).
I am looking forward to my next pair. After all, it is nice to be doing a good deed when shopping for one’s self

As I have said, I resurrected my Pinterest account just the other day so I can start looking at beautiful stuff once again. It will help get inspired and write about things. I am more drawn on quotes to live by and stuff for the home. I dream that we are always one day closer to owning one and foreseeing what the house will look like is a fun activity, I tell you. I am also partial on wood furniture and these pieces of rustic furniture can make a fine shabby home.

I feel more girl now compared to my first pregnancy. I prefer dresses over pants But I have a very limited number of dresses in my closet. So I went ahead and browsed for some chic maternity online. Who knows, the husband just might give me some shopping money soon? *wink*
These are the ones I saw which I think I can rock:

The holidays are over, thinking of gift ideas for Christmas is way past. And I am stuck in that holiday mood! I must get back on my regular routine, I tell you. I have been slacking too much but at least I am getting my photo-a-day project done
So yay! I also resurrected my Pinterest account and installed the app on my phone. Talk about getting all the inspiration that I need, eh? I expect to blog more often, I really wish I can keep up.

I think this is another product that will make video recording and online sharing so much easier (much like Sony’s Bloggie Live):
Toshiba announced its first wireless camcorder. They are calling it Camileo Air10. This new product can yield 1080p videos and even 16MP still which you can easily upload online or do live-streaming. Directly upload to YouTube, Facebook, UStream, Picasa and Twitvid without having to download to computer first. Air10 will be available in February for $150.

Have you seen the Nikon’s announcement of their new flagship DSLR?

Before the end of the week, a lot of photo enthusiasts both professionals and hobbyists were raving about the new camera. The Nikon D4 is expected to ship in late February this year and will retail for US$5,999.95.
The highly anticipated DSLR was described in digphoto.org as:
“The design is geared towards multifaceted photographers, and it’s equipped to handle almost any shooting situation. The D4 features a larger display (3.2-inch) than its predecessor, an EXPEED3 image processor and a 16.2 megapixel 36.0 x 23.9mm CMOS sensor.
The light sensitivity on the camera can be set all the way to ISO 50, for an extremely sensitive photo, or as fast as ISO 204,800. The standard range for the camera is ISO 100 – 12,800. The high-speed shooting option of 11 frames-per-second will also help you never miss an important shot.
Any professional level DSLR would be useless without full HD video capture. The D4 offers 1080p broadcast quality video at 30 or 24 fps. There are two live view modes and the ability to use the camera’s LCD and an external monitor at the same time.”
Amazon opened the reservations but slots ran out within an hour of the announcement. Adorama also opened it’s pre-selling but that too is expected to be sold out soon enough.

It is sad that a typhoon had to hit the country so near Christmas
Mindanao, more particularly Cagayan de Oro and Iligan, was badly hit by Sendong over the weekend. It is heartbreaking to watch the news. The death toll is rising and a lot of people are still missing. Fellow Pinoys are getting hungry and sick. Clean drinking water supply is dwindling.
I pray for strength for the victims and volunteers in Mindanao.

I think I will have to pass giving gifts this year. Call me a scrooge but we are currently tight on budget these days. I only bought gifts for some kids, meaning I only bought for those that I am sure we would be seeing. For the rest, no gifts from me, sorry. I promise to make it up to them next year. And I promise also we will start shopping early next year so as to avoid the rush. I will be more practical and hunt for coupons!
I got the idea when I received this alert for 2012 nfl shop coupons. Why not right?
Again I’m sorry folks, I am sure you’ll understand

A few weeks ago, while at our library, we let my DD sit in front of our old piano. Like most toddlers, we expected her to just hit any note as if just pretending to play. Much to our amazement, she played good notes that are pleasing to the ears. And her fingers were not stiff at all. I was so glad to have captured it in video and a lot of my friends said that this kid has potential.
Since she was one (she’s almost three now), we noticed that she is musically inclined. She likes to sing and play instruments. She visits her uncle’s room just to watch him play his esp guitars. I would like to believe that she is gifted like that. I promised to nurture whatever talent she has. Who knows, I could be raising a future famous pianist (or violinist), right?
