Top Ten Marriage Proposals by Geeks

Jul

I was proposed to in a not so traditional way. My then boyfriend invited some kids for a McDonald’s Party and had one of them act as the birthday celebrant. I still remember every detail of that day almost five years ago. Needless to say, I answered “Yes!” and got married on 01 July 2006.

I found this interesting article which listed the top ten geekiest wedding proposals. Check it out if you want to be amused :)

  1. Super Mario – the girl played a Mario game which was hacked by the guy who arranged the coins to ask the question.
  2. iPhone App – guy created a treasure hunt application that sent the girl around San Francisco.
  3. Little Big Planet – the game’s level creation functionality was utlilized.
  4. iPod – the lucky girl got a diamond ring and an engraved iPod.
  5. Chrono-Trigger – super romantic hack that was customized with the couple’s notable locations, quotes and experiences.
  6. Google Street View – version 2.0
  7. Megatouch – the company was into the secret too!
  8. Twitter – enough said.
  9. iPhone Ad – familiar iPhone ad with a twist.
  10. LOLcats.

I should have blogged about this the minute I saw Chuvaness’ post but failed to do so. I was hoping we could drop by Megamall last Tuesday to take pics of the unopened store but we settled for North instead. Yes, Forever 21, the real one, finally comes to Manila. The first store will open today at the second floor of Megamall A. The first 250 customers to come today will receive P200 voucher each.

I was talking to Hubby on our way back to QC and asked him whether he will bring me to shop there. He said yes, much to my surprise! :) I guess I am really changing my wardrobe soon!

Vaio: Too Hot to Handle

Jul

vaio Literally. Sony Vaio users’ attention was called because the company recalled F and C series Vaio computers sold after January this year. This is after the company received reports of the unit’s cases to bend because it has become too hot, even posing  a threat to burn users. The affected batch of units are said to be sold worldwide so you might want to check your Vaio to make sure. There were no recorded cases of burns but Sony have already received 39 cases of overheating.

The problem, is said to be solved by just doing a software upgrade so bringing the unit back to the seller or Sony customer service is not exactly necessary. Sony has released a list of affected units, check here. If yours is included, you just need to download the update. If you are one of the less techy customers, the company can arrange for pick-up and they will do the software upgrade themselves.
