Ana is beauty and brains. And her family is well-off. Quite understandably, she pursued a career in law and dreamed of helping those who cannot afford high-profile attorneys. Not that Ana is not high-profile but she preferred to take on cases that she feels are more fulfilling. Now she and her partners handle some Mesothelioma lawsuits. Despite her busy schedule, Ana still gets to pamper herself and buy stuff. She is after all a certified fashionista.
I cannot believe that the Harry Potter geek in me forgot to share this trailer of Deathly Hallows. Only a few weeks to go and it will be shown already in theaters. I am sure Manila will be included in the worldwide premier as there are a lot of HP fans here.
About 37,000 individuals will soon be embarking on their dream healthcare career. The other day, the Professional Regulatory Board released the results of the July 2010 Nursing Licensure Examinations. I really hope these young nurses will be able to find a suitable hospital to hire them to further enhance what they learned in school. I hope the government will be able to provide jobs so the skillful will not have to leave the country and work abroad.
Anyway, here’s a shout out to April for making it!
One of the board games I miss playing is Scrabble. It’s been a while since the last time I played it. I love that the games makes my brain work, trying to figure out how the tiles will fit the board that will give a high score. A few weeks ago, a local comedienne shared that she loves playing this too although she’s not exactly good with words. But she manages to win and she shared her secret: she memorized a lot of words that start with Q! Now that’s smart Here are some of the words that she shared in Twitter:
qorma – a type of curry
qiviut – the wool of an ox
qipao – a chinese dress
qibli – a kind of Mediterranean wind
qiana – type of nylon
Note this down, you’ll never know when these words will come handy!
We live in a tropical country yet I have ready cotton and cashmere sweaters in my closet all year-round. It’s quite funny that I have really low tolerance to cold weather and cold rooms. And imagine how much we’re saving on electricity for not turning on the air-conditioning unit every night! So when everyone’s complaining about the heat, I let them turn on the a/c and I bundle in my blanket wearing one of my sweats, pajama pants and a pair of socks! And don’t get me started on cool theaters because yes, I need to have something to cover my skin while watching a movie. Otherwise, I will not be able to enjoy at all! Weird but true! LOL!
I was totally planning on blogging tonight but today’s events got me too tired to even think. It is definitely a sad sad day for this country that I don’t want to talk about it anymore. And blogging about it feels like saving it in my memory. The next few days will probably be difficult, especially for fellow Pinoys working abroad. But I guess we are all affected by one man’s actions and we just have to deal with it no matter how hard it is going to be.
So tonight, I will go offline early (yes, 2am is early) and just continue reading the book I started yesterday. But let me leave you with this amusing image I found on the net…when things were less complicated! *wink*
It seems like the maxi dress, the jersey ones are making a come back this fall:
I am a fan of maxi dresses because they make me less conscious but I will have to admit that they also make me look short and plump. Well, I am fat and a maxi makes me look like I am pregnant once again, LOL! Click the image for the source article and read the comments too while you’re there So what is your vote: Yay or Nay?!
Yes as early as now, I am already looking for a nice costume for my K. Last year, since she was still a baby, we just bought her a tiger cub headband and made her wear her yellow gold dress. We only attended a party here in our community. This year, I promised myself to buy or commission someone for her costume. Then we’ll join trick or treat events in malls aside from the annual party here, so I can justify having to spend money for a costume, hehe. I found this really cute dress, a pink pirate costume (image is clickable):
Unfortunately, there is no available size for K at this time and we need to place the order by Saturday (hey that’s today!). The box needs to leave the US before August ends if we want the orders to arrive Manila on time. This would have been really cute on K but I guess it’s not meant to be.
If you are always on the go and you want your files always ready at hand, wouldn’t you want designer USB drives that have interesting designs?! Found these cute and geeky drives at mimico.com, check them out!
Prices start at $24.95 for 2GB storage. You will just have to add a few dollars to increase capacity.
