Geeky Fashionista

This is a long-standing project (together with the creation of photo books): to organize the pictures I had printed for the last couple of years. Yes, the backlog is that much. I already have an album and the photos are in envelopes grouped by months so placing them should be easy (but why am I taking this long to finish then? LOL). Anyway, I plan to frame some of the photos so our bedroom wall can finally have some accents. I have been waiting for a perfect time and that is possibly happening soon. Like some sign, I received this notification about online shopping deals for Black Friday at Personal Creations and I saw this neat frame that could definitely work for me because it’s cute:

A month before a trip, I realized that our luggage is not sufficient. I am not even sure if we have at least one piece of luggage we can actually use. I started to panic a bit last night when this realization hit me. We will be four adults and a toddler in that trip, everything is planned except for, well, the luggage, LOL! I am so glad that I remembered this early (although it would have been better if I thought about it much much earlier!) and not think about it a week before. I wish to travel light (help me!) so I am thinking we only need one big maleta and small ones for the boys. If it isn’t too late, I would have grabbed the opportunity to buy this Samsonite set on sale ($139.99 for everything!):

We are checking later if the available luggage isn’t broken. Otherwise, we will be forced to buy new ones. I pray there’s a sale at the mall!

Last night, I was totally in my element. I was planning to scrap, update my blogs and do some research about Welch Allyn Otoscopes (I know, geeky, right?!). But I suddenly felt the onset of migraine, I almost threw up even if I lied down. I could not afford to get really sick especially that I was to see friends today. So I turned off the laptop and tried to sleep. I was feeling better when I woke up but the headache was still there. The husband volunteered to run/drive to the drug store to buy me some Advil, bless him. That helped and I survived the day. Today was well spent. We ate and we shopped. I guess the shopping part also helped saved the day!

We were strolling in the mall one weekend and my Mom & I decided to step into the intimidating store called Louis Vuitton One bag is something that I cannot afford at this time so it was a chuckle that we even went inside! The smell of leather was heavenly! We did not ask for prices because we did not want the SAs to waste time on us, haha. But just as we were going out of the store, this bag caught my attention:

It was a love at first sight for me! We still did not ask so I googled and found out what I needed to know. The bag is called Rivington and it comes in Damier Ebene. The model also comes in cabas style but this one is the apple of my eye. Apparently, this is the latest in the bag collection. A lot of bag hags already blogged about it but I never took notice. It is really true that anything can sweep you off your feet when you see it in person (just like what happened to me and the LC Red Cabas!).

I am not sure when I’ll be able to afford one but I am hoping that when that happens, Rivington isn’t discontinued yet, harhar.

Driving is always a risk, especially around here where you can’t trust that all drivers are for safety. There was a period in time when we didn’t have comprehensive insurance coverage that I had to avoid driving as well. That is not good practice, I tell you, I mean not updating the coverage each year is as risky as driving. Now I realize that I have no excuse for overlooking that because there are a lot of available cheap auto insurance online. All I need is finding the perfect insurance company that can provide for my coverage requirements. Anyway, our policy is now up-to-date and I promise myself to renew each year. I don’t want to regret anything later on!

I am happy that a branch opened nearer us. I can’t afford to visit Megamall all the time. On Sunday, I had to run a quick errand for Mom and I am glad the husband agreed to go with me. I asked if we could go earlier so I can check if there are available boots in Payless. Now I am not exactly a boots type of girl but I need a pair for the upcoming trip. I was just going to window-shop but I went home with a pair of this:

The husband agreed to pay for it and isn’t he a darling? I checked online and I am glad to report that this pair is cheaper here than if I ordered it online. Such a steal.

Now all I need to do is break this in considering that I have a bad history with wearing new shoes!

I have seen how wireless cctv cameras work to the advantage of the homeowner or business owner and even to others who might find the videos useful. In the news, we would see how crime suspects are identified because they were caught on-cam. The public are also sometimes notified of various modus operandi of the bad elements in restaurants and other places. It is amazing how technology works. But these things and  how they are installed are known to criminals already. I heard of one story where a friend’s brother had to actually cement the camera on the wall outside their gate because they were robbed of the camera, TWICE, LOL. I guess the available systems now these days are theft-proof already?

However, this takes the cake: I know of someone who uses their surveillance camera for amusement purposes. No kidding! She would sit in front of the monitor, many hours each day and watch closely how strangers loiter outside their house. And then announce to the world, via FB, what she just witnessed. Weird right?

Today is the 115th Anniversary of the Discovery of X-Ray, is why. Will update this post later. I just received a call and we are meeting my Mom for lunch so we got to prepare now
