A new line of Levi’s will hit the stores this January and they are aptly called Green Jeans. Why? Because these pairs are made with less water consumption. In 2007, the jeans company assessed the resources in manufacturing the famous 501 jeans from “the cotton fields needed to make the fabric to consumers’ tossing their dirty dungarees in the washing machine.” They found out that each pair used up 3,480 liters of water, equivalent to running a garden hose for almost two hours (106 minutes). Now that’s a lot of wastage, eh? The company then decided to control what they can control: the “washing” part towards the end of manufacturing process. The new jeans will use up 28% less water than the conventional ones. The company is expecting to save approximately 16 million liters of water if they target to sell 1.5 million pairs of Levi’s Water>Less jeans this spring. Awesome way to help the environment, yes?

If there were available business intelligence software in the late nineties (that I know of), I probably skipped going to business school. Instead, I would have studied something that I would really love doing.
I don’t remember hearing about these things back then or it would have been easier to decide which course to take. It is nice to know that new business owners can get the technical support that they need in doing business, I guess even without a management degree. I am not saying that I wasted at least three years of my life in University but I would have been more glad if there are tools like these even before. I started a small business a couple of years after graduation that did not flourish because I had little or no experience in analyzing trends and markets. Maybe things would have turned out different if I had help.

I forgot to bookmark the article but it said that the game app called Angry Birds is for smart people. Is this why I play it too?! Har har. Anyway, I haven’t had the time to play it on the Touch because DD demands for the iPod when she sees me holding it. I actually miss playing and it is a nice surprise when the husband told me that Angry Birds has joined the PC Games world. This could mean more playing time for me (not that I have a lot of extra time in my hands, though) because having it in my laptop also means I can get away with playing while DD is busy with the iPod
I have yet to check it out, the pc version I mean. I will share once i am able to download a copy.

Just look at PBB winner Melai Cantiveros in this month’s Mega Magazine cover:
I am not a fan of her, she can be pretty irritating and is over-acting most of the time but I must say that she transformed into a swan in this cover. Amazing eh? If not for her height, she’d make a beautiful model.

We do not have much childhood photos, sadly. The little that we have were mostly ruined by past typhoons & floods, and lost after the many times we moved houses. Now that the digital age is here, it is easier to keep memories in images. I am not yet that addicted to taking photos but I can say that I was bitten by the digital bug quite early (relative to the people I know). I’ve had cameras, different every two or so years. The one I have right now is probably my most favorite. I considered getting a Canon camera, but geek as I am, I settled for the one with better reviews. The husband also helped me decide. Nat, my camera, is the perfect companion to capture moments with my DD. I will share which camera Nat is in a future post

Before the year ended, a lot of people reacted violently when the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) came out with a draft memorandum that would allow local broadband providers to put a cap on daily downloads. With nearly everyone depending on the internet 24/7, this is not surprising to hear. It is not like we have the fastest broadband services in the country, right? And putting a limit surely hit a nerve especially that internet companies are not upgrading the services to be at par with neighboring Asian countries. In an article, GMANews compiled comparative data to show that we have one of the slowest speeds at 1.5Mbps! Imagine that versus the 37.1Mbps in South Korea, what are we, in the ranks of dial-up?!
I say first things first. Improve the service then see from there; Set plans that are fair to the users if they must. Hindi puro pakabig sa direksyon ng mga kumpanya.

Have you seen these bags?
While strolling in Rockwell yesterday, I saw a lady carrying one. These bags look nicer IRL, the quality seems high. If they’re not steeply priced, I would have ordered the orange one in a heartbeat
I’ve always said that I am not a fan of knock-offs, but these bags are not exactly Birkin knock-offs right? I actually find them amusing LOL. I also like this one from the Winter Collection, Champs Lavender Grey:
