I was browsing through my Facebook feeds when I saw a seemingly fun party. Well, a friend threw a party for her husband’s birthday and asked the guests to come in statement shirts. Very nice idea, I must say. Even if the colors did not complement each other, the funny t shirts looked nice in the photos she posted. Because most of the guests indeed came in shirts with funny wordings, the party seemed to come together perfectly. Maybe I can host a similar party in the future and hope that the guests will participate.

Something to look forward to tomorrow! My E friends are coming over for some girl bonding after their office hours. Initially we planned to go to a spa or watch a movie. But since I can’t be away from home for too long, we decided to just hire home service and do some pampering at home. It may not be the full-blown spa day, with sauna and bath salts, but I am sure we will all have a blast. We will also just order some food we can share over chikahan. I cannot wait!
In other news, scary rains and winds tonight! I really hope it breaks soon because I am thinking of all the families whose homes are not sturdy or high enough if another flashflood happens. God forbid.

Speaking of Harry Potter, I found in Twitter a link to this image which shows Harry Potter characters in anime:
I love how the artist was able to capture the personality of them all. And it’s a plus that the generation before Harry was also illustrated. Is there actually a comic/anime version of Harry Potter?

During the long weekend, DH and I were finally able to watch Harry Potter 7 part 1. We expected the movie to be hanging in the end, we still watched it. After all, Part 2 will be shown soon and I am hoping we can see it at the theater this time. Just thinking about the HP7-2 makes me sad because it means there will be no more Harry Potter movies unless new stories come out. I felt the same way when I finished reading the last book.
After watching the move, I caught the Harry Potter fever once again. To cure it, I decided to read the books again from Sorcerer’s Stone. I dropped the one I was reading so I can start with HP again. It is nice to revisit the stories and to remember the small details. I ma still in book 1 but I am excited to get to the Dumbledore’s Army part because that’s one of my favorites. Remember the coins they used to send messages among the members? Much similar to a custom challenge coin such as these, except of course the ones the kids used are magical.

I am halfway through the first book and I hope I get done with all seven before the movie is shown.

Guess who went bed-frame shopping last month?

It was planned but impulsive at the same time. I mean, we were scheduled to buy one since we were sleeping on a mattress on the floor for the longest time but we bought sooner than expected. We found the perfect frame and it was on sale, is why. A couple of days after buying, we were also able to buy matching bed linens from Duty Free. I was hoping to get Sferra, because I value restful sleep (just imagine the sleeping in 600+ thread count sheets!) but that will have to wait. Maybe when we have our own house already? I will definitely pin this on our (virtual) dream wall:
Someday, our bedroom will look like this

I love giving personalized gifts because personalized items make it even more special. It also means I took time in preparing for the gift which the recipient would appreciate. Like for Fathers’ Day this year, I created a mini album for DH and he was thankful when he saw it (I have yet to have it printed though).
Anyway, one online shop for personalized gifts I have been seeing in Facebook is Red Envelope. They have nice items for all occasions, across all ages and gender. I haven’t had the chance to order from them but the ideas I get are pretty awesome. They are also now on Twitter. Find the red envelope twitter account, and follow, so you can be updated about good deals.

It will probably take years before parts of Japan is rehabilitated and affected lives to go back to normal. It is understandable that business like the Uniqlo Chairman and CEO would donate $12M of his own money for the relief efforts. And as if that is not enough, Uniqlo is teaming up with celebrities to raise more funds for Japan Red Cross. According to a recent press release, ten designers and celebrities are part of this collaboration with Uniqlo, which include Lady Gaga, Karl Lagerfeld, Gwyneth Paltrow, Nicole Kidman, Alber Elbaz, Blake Lively, Charlize Theron, Cyndi Lauper, Victoria Beckham, and Orlando Bloom.
Here are some samples:

The shirts will be $19.90 each and will be available starting June 25.

About a week ago, our friend happily announced that they score tickets to the Astrocamp for free. It was an exciting news since her first born is pretty much interested in the solar system as well as the use of scopes. It was indeed a night to remember for the little boy. I saw their photos and I can tell that he was really happy he was there to see the moon.
I heard the dome observatory is open daily (weather permitting) at San Miguel by The Bay, behind the Mall of Asia. My little DD is still not interested with these things but I hope the observatory stays open foe when she starts getting curious about the heavenly bodies.
