Before the end of the week, a lot of photo enthusiasts both professionals and hobbyists were raving about the new camera. The Nikon D4 is expected to ship in late February this year and will retail for US$5,999.95.
The highly anticipated DSLR was described in digphoto.org as:
“The design is geared towards multifaceted photographers, and it’s equipped to handle almost any shooting situation. The D4 features a larger display (3.2-inch) than its predecessor, an EXPEED3 image processor and a 16.2 megapixel 36.0 x 23.9mm CMOS sensor.
The light sensitivity on the camera can be set all the way to ISO 50, for an extremely sensitive photo, or as fast as ISO 204,800. The standard range for the camera is ISO 100 – 12,800. The high-speed shooting option of 11 frames-per-second will also help you never miss an important shot.
Any professional level DSLR would be useless without full HD video capture. The D4 offers 1080p broadcast quality video at 30 or 24 fps. There are two live view modes and the ability to use the camera’s LCD and an external monitor at the same time.”
Amazon opened the reservations but slots ran out within an hour of the announcement. Adorama also opened it’s pre-selling but that too is expected to be sold out soon enough.
