I once told the husband that if he is planning to give me a gift that is not a gadget, I would appreciate a bracelet or a necklace. See I lost most of my jewelry pieces when someone broke into our house in 2006. I haven’t had the chance and budget to buy new stuff since then. I found this personalized necklace so interesting:
This is not something as precious as the ones I lost but I think it is nice that I can hold the birthstones of my little family all the time.

If there is one thing I am missing now that I am pregnant, it’s coffee. Before infanticipating, I would drink at least 2 cups of coffee in a day. It abruptly changed when we found out we’re pregnant. My doctor does not recommend decaffeinated coffee because she says, what’s the point? I think she is right, I will just have to wait until I deliver the baby.
I already have plans of buying a machine, the ones that use pods for single serve coffee. Oh how I can already smell my coffee now! Maybe this bunn coffee brewer perhaps?
I cannot wait! Two more months!

Yesterday, the husband and I were on the subject of building our home (or at least the lack of budget for such, LOL). We really want to have our own house soon. I was still on the high talking about it that last night, I was browsing design sites and looking back at my my dream board. I really want wood flooring and the desire was confirmed after seeing the flooring at Ronac Center:
We went there for snacks at Charlie’s and it was my first time to set foot on the building (the husband just used to bring home food for me from there). I am not sure it they’re really wood or the design just made them look like wood. After all, the weather here is not too friendly with wood structures. It is something we should also consider when we start with the construction (which we still don’t know when, LOL). Would basement flooring work well even if we won’t have a basement? Maybe I am getting ahead of myself here but it is fun thinking about future homes, much like when I was dreaming of my wedding, LOL. For now I am just collecting inspirations from design to fixtures to walls and even floors because that much I can only afford at this time.

Sometimes, I dread Sunday afternoons because it means I am supposed to be out there. With the summer heat being felt all over the city, I would rather stay home than melt with sweat. But Sundays mean we need to restock our freezer and pantry for the week ahead. So I have little choice but to go out. We got done pretty fast today, thanks to the little one’s cooperation. I was able to buy everything that is listed and a more. I bought fruits too. I was looking for african mango plus at the supermarket thinking that it is a fruit but what do you know, it is a kind of diet pill and I didn’t know. A friend just mentioned it the other day and I really thought it is much like Philippines mangoes. Silly me! LOL! Anyway, we are now fine for the rest of the week and I can rest now…well, after I’m done with some tasks that is! Enjoy the rest of your weekend, folks!

Last week, I was able to meet up with my engineer friends for dinner. It was totally a nice break from my SAHM duties, I say. We talk about all sorts of topics when together but them being engineers, they like to talk about geeky and technical stuff (surprise, surprise!
). We talked about road policies on motorcycle lanes, gadgets, and even tool balancer brands that work and fail. I welcome these kinds of conversations because I get to learn new things all the time.

My husband and I are not too particular about the toys our daughter likes to play (well, except for guns and the like). We buy her toys even if they are gender specific. Like we let her play with cars and model planes and building blocks. I know of a couple who does the same for their boy, they buy him kitchen sets and dolls. I believe there is nothing wrong with that as long as we parents do not put malice into it nor labels, right? Many parents, especially the old-school, old fashioned ones will not agree with me but I see nothing wrong with girls playing boy toys. I think my daughter’s imagination is stretched when there are more options opened for her.

Well, the husband! He went clothes shopping at Sears and hopped from one barcode scanner to another
He is currently on a business trip in North California and he needed some thick clothes for work. He needs to spend the allowance anyway and the ones he brought in his luggage may not be enough to battle the weather. My sister and her family accompanied him to the mall to buy the pieces and they brought some food supplies too. I wish I was there too!

When we found out the husband is going on a business trip, I immediately thought of the things I can ask him to buy for me. I thought of baby stuff and some make-up too
But as a self-confessed geek, I am excited to entertain the thought of owning a Kindle Touch.
The husband already bought me an iPad 2 last year but our dear daughter claimed it as hers already. That said, I haven’t been reading again as much as I want to. Getting a Kindle seems like a logical choice, at least for me. I still have a few more days to think about it.

I cannot blame the little one for wanting to go for a swim. There are days that the weather is humid; maybe she just wants to be refreshed? She would ask me if she could go but I am not allowed to swim in a pool now that I am pregnant and hubby would get home late from work already. It would also rain in the afternoons. The village pool is not indoors and is not equipped with a raypak heater. I wish the weather will cooperate before weekend so we can ask her uncle to accompany her to the pool.

Looking at my Instagram feeds, friends from the US have been posting snow pictures. Winter has definitely arrived on their side of the world. Their boots are out and so are the snow wear. Having lived in a tropical country all my life, I have always dreamed of experiencing snow, building snowmen and making snow angels. And the winter gear?! I would love to have a pink bogner jacket as shown below.
Maybe in the future, we will be able to visit New York during winter.
