It started when I realized I was running out of phone space. I would bug the husband to back-up my photos (I used to have more than a thousand pictures in my phone and they’re eating up to much space) in his computer since his PC is our main storage for pictures and phone data. Plus hubby is my tech guy and anything computer related, he does for me. He is not very comfortable with the idea of just an occasional backing up of files but then he doesn’t always have time to help me out. So he searched for a nice app that can probably answer my needs. After all, the saying goes: There’s an App for that! Right?

He came across BUMP. Basically it is similar to the old Bluetooth technology where you can share data with another device. But with this app, you literally bump the devices on each other and data such as photos shall be transferred already.

Pardon the quality of the images, I don’t have time to post-process to make them clearer. You just have to download the Bump app, connect to WiFi or 3G (the other device must have Bump and connection too), choose the photos to send, Click Bump now, lightly bump the devices on each other, allow access by clicking Connect, and viola the photos are transferred and automatically saved in the photo library. Location Services for the app must be turned on too.

I said a while ago that I need an app to transfer photos to my laptop right? Yes, Bump can also do that. Just go to https://photos.bu.mp and allow access to your location. Go to your app in the iPhone, Touch or iPad and find the photos that need to be transferred. Click Bump now and lightly bump your device on the laptop’s space bar. Allow connection and see your photos magically transfer to the laptop I need not connect using a cable to transfer files which for me is fool-proof enough.

My brother was just issued a new laptop for official use at work. Now that his car is being repaired from previous damage, he needs a sturdy laptop bag to bring his machine in when he commutes to work. So the Tony Stark shirt we ordered finally arrived a few days ago.

After days of following it up, it arrived on May 10. We paid via Paypal on May 1 and the seller confirmed he received the payment. However, for reasons unknown to us, the shipment did not arrive within two days from the time of payment. DH had to send emails and text messages to no avail. The husband even just gave up, ready to just lose the money we paid for it. Of course I cannot let that happen. Money is still money and it was hard-earned money we used to pay for it. So I resorted to extreme measures and tweeted the persons involved. Yes, publicly. Alas, I got a reply right away! The magic of Twitter, huh?! Even thought he seller’s partner promised to ship it that same day, the shirt did not arrive the next day as expected. I sent a ff-up once again, and was told all shipments were made only that day. The shirt finally arrived the next day, almost two weeks from the time we paid.

The shirt is a pretty nice idea, with the Avengers fever still at its peak. But I must say I was disappointed with the print quality on the shirt. For the price we paid and the sucky service we experienced, I was expecting for more. Oh well. DH wore the shirt yesterday, and the imperfection of the print is subtle anyway. All is good? Yeah, I guess so. But next time I decide to go online shopping, remind me not to raise my hopes too high.

Pardon the lack of posts, I will try to fill in the gaps later on. I have been feeling heavy these days because I am very pregnant at the moment. I am actually due to give birth anytime, and that makes me anxious and lethargic too. My doctor advised me to rest some more because we are having troubles fattening the baby up. I just go under C-section by this week if the baby’s weight does not improve. Since I am resting, I let the husband go to the grocery alone so we can restock our pantry for the week. I reminded him of the product bundling the supermarket does, even sent him a layout of the store so he’ll know where to grab things. He was done in no time. The ease can also be attributed to the fact that our DD did not go with him. It would have taken him double the time if she went because the little girl has become very very impatient when at the mall.

Anyway, that’s just a little update. Today is Mother’s Day. We just went out for lunch and let DD play at the arcade center for a while. We could not go shopping or even stroll the mall because of my condition. I will try to blog some more within the week, before we head to the hospital. TTYL!

The Avengers fever is here. We watched the movie last Friday after finding out that my OB is in an emergency and cannot attend to patients that day. I am so glad we went on a weekday, not a lot of people at the cinemas. It helped that we went for the first screening of that day, even less people are watching. I loved the movie! I loved the lines!

Of course it is the line by Tony Stark himself I asked DH if he would like one and he said yes. So I emailed the contact person last night, and now we are waiting for the response. I really hope we can score one shirt as I am told there are only  limited number of shirts to be sold.

I was just reading one email in one of my e-groups where a parent is asking for suggestions about instruments. Apparently, her son was diagnosed with speech and developmental delays last year but is now better and off therapy sessions. The kid’s Developmental Pediatrician even told  her that the kid is has the potential to be more intelligent, thus was recommended to learn to play an instrument. This is actually the first time I heard that there is a correlation between intelligence and musical instruments. It must be because the brain and motor skills are honed? Anyway, this revelation further supported my wish for my DD to learn an instrument. I am leaning towards piano and violin but a flute (an avanti perhaps?) would be nice also. I just really wish DD will also express interest in instruments because that is one of my greatest frustrations, not being able to learn to play one.

I was not able to watch the coronation program last night so I am depending on posts online. I heard (via Twitter) that were hits and misses in the production but overall, it was nice.

Janine Tugunon (No. 18), last year’s first runner up will represent our country to the Ms. Universe pageant. She bested 29 other candidates. She graduated from University of Sto. Tomas with a degree in Pharmacy and currently works a a clinical specialist.

The other title-holders are Nicole Schmitz (No. who won Bb. Pilipinas-International and Katrina Jayne Dimaranan (No. 13) who won Bb. Pilipinas-Tourism. Elaine Kay Moll was declared 1st runner-up while Annalie Forbes was 2nd runner-up.

I am amazed by how much my DD loves music. She’s just three years old and she already appreciates music and instruments. At her age now, she can already sing songs and carry tunes. She even hums herself to sleep sometimes. At the grocery, she would sway to the music being played in the store. These things make me really proud. I am someone whose frustration is playing at least one instrument. I used to have a piano tutor but I eventually stopped without learning anything. So I am hoping DD will take interest in an instrument. She would play with the piano at school, and also with her uncle’s dean guitars. That’s a good sign, huh? As a parent, all DH and I could do is support her when she’s ready for lessons.

I went to see my Obstetrician for my monthly check the other day. Currently, I am on the 33rd week of pregnancy. She was surprised to see me so big, as big as someone who’s due to give birth anytime. The truth is I gained 6lbs in the last 4 weeks. I should have been glad because I have been struggling with my weight as well as the baby’s. Then we found out that although the baby gained weight also, her percentile rank dropped 15% (from 44%). And we have been working on making it to at least 50%. Now the doctor is keeping me on a high protein diet, even added dosage to my protein supplement intake.

If I were not pregnant, I would be struggling to NOT gain weight at all. I would probably be going to the gym 3 times a weeks. Or even take lipo 6 black ultra concentrate just to hasten weight loss. But my case is not so. I still have six weeks to work on my weight gain issues before I can think about losing all the added pounds.
